Only those who are Audacious compete!
Nancy Pearcy said, “Competition is always a good thing. It forces us to do our
best. A monopoly renders people complacent and satisfied with mediocrity.”
When we compete, we are sharpened and we become creative in solving problems.
It takes courage and bravery to venture out of our comfort zone and decide not to be
complacent.
In a world filled with challenges, it takes the audacity to develop solutions to meet the
targets and milestones set within the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Because competition makes us problem solvers and creative while at it, we introduced
the School/Student competition to our Catalyst Event to engage students and schools to
pitch bold, actionable, and applicable steps towards achieving one of the 17 SDGs
through STEM or Entrepreneurship.
Risk-taking is one of the characteristics of entrepreneurs which makes them audacious.
This is also the reason it is often recommended that we approach problems with an
entrepreneurial mindset. This enables us to solve those problems in a sustainable
manner.
Students who use the STEM approach to learning and development have been
described as possessing skills such as problem-solving, creativity, etc.
This confirms that these skills – problem-solving, and creativity – are vital in solving
problems we are faced with, on a daily basis.
So, are you creative?
