Ms Landeka Diamond is a District Director for Metro East Education District in Western Cape, South Africa

Ms Landeka Diamond is the District Director for Metro East Education District in Western Cape. She was the founding principal for Westlake Primary School, where she facilitated collaborations with countries like U.K., Zimbabwe, Poland and India, to name a few. In 2019 she won the National Teaching award for excellence in school leadership, and she came first in the country.

She was a national nominee for Commonwealth Education awards in 2021. She was a provincial executive member on the South African Principals Association. She was also the National Deputy President of EMASA (Education Management Association of South Africa) until 2021. She has represented the country in many platforms of educational interest and has presented academic papers locally and internationally. She represented South Africa in the United States of America in 2012 and travelled 5 different states attending to education matters in the International Visitor Leadership Programme. She also represented South Africa in Malaysia as part of a delegation to present academic and educational papers. Ms. Diamond also visited China for different educational assignments and the last visit was in November 2019 as she completed the Seminar for Education Managers from BRI Countries at East China Normal University. Ms. Diamond is an author for various publications with the most recent being a book chapter, “Excellence in School Management and Leadership” for the book project called Best Practices of  South African Public School Leaders: A holistic legal-based practice of excellence, published by Juta in 2021.

She holds a master’s degree in education administration, planning and social policy from UCT (First class). Bed Hons in education management, law, and systems from Northwest University. (Cum Laude). She did her undergrad studies in Port Elizabeth and graduated first class. Ms. Diamond is a PhD candidate, and her research interests include education law. She is very passionate about solution-driven approaches, the best interest of the child and serving in previously and currently disadvantaged areas. Landeka is passionate about serving to benefit learners and she does not see problems, she sees possibilities.

Ms. Diamond’s strengths include imparting knowledge to colleagues and motivating them towards achieving targeted goals. She is an educationist at heart.
