Bola is a Social Entrepreneur and he Co-founded ScholarX, a Scholarship Management platform that helps young Africans access funding to get an education; by connecting the diaspora with students who need funds, due to his passion for human capital development in Africa through increased access to Education.
ScholarX was nominated by Apps Africa as Best App in West Africa in 2017, and it received an award for innovation and impact at the African Diaspora Investment Symposium in Silicon Valley. Most recently, the startup was selected to join Injini’s second Edtech incubator in Cape Town, South Africa, as well as being one of five global startups chosen to participate in Qatar foundation’s WISE Accelerator.
Prior to ScholarX, he worked as a Business Analyst with companies such as ConocoPhillips, Accenture, and Shell and he helped deliver multiple million-dollar IT systems implementation projects.
He is a 2018 African Changemakers Fellow and has been featured as a Speaker at Africa focused Tech/Entrepreneurship events in Europe, Africa, and the United States. Bola graduated from University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2009 and he also obtained an Executive certificate for Social Impact Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania in 2018
